February has been a really weird month. New job, lots of days off school, planning a wedding. Not to mention that the weather is really making this month drag on. On the bright side we have less than 100 days until we get married! Preparing our hearts for marriage has been a really fun journey so far and I know that's just the beginning of amazing things in store for our lives together. I love the way these pictures captured a quiet, simple moment that come few and far between these days. 

2013.

the best year yet. i have a feeling 2014 is going to be even better. 

sweet november.

November comes and November goes, with the last red berries and the first white snows. With night coming early and dawn coming late, and ice in the bucket and frost by the gate. The fires burn and the kettles sing, and earth sinks to rest until next spring. -Clyde Watson

This november I am feeling so thankful. It has been such an exciting time for John and I and I just feel wrapped in love. The days have become shorter, busier and much colder yet I am still finding so much joy in each day. It's been a happy fall. I want to always remember this as the happiest time. 

Split Rock is one of my favorite places ever. The cool breeze by the lake and the never ending water is perfect. It makes you feel like you're in another world. We spent a couple hours hiking, laying on the rocks and soaking up the sun. We love you, Split Rock. 

a weekend up north

These are a few of my favorite shoes from last weekend when we went camping up north for the Fourth of July. These are from our first day, which we spent hanging around the shops and the lake. Many more pictures to come from our beautiful hikes around Lake Superior.
